How do I go about getting my insurance company to cover Cymbalta?
My doctor appealed and they denied it. I have to try Effexor for 6 weeks, then re-appeal. I have been on the Effexor for 2 weeks, and I definitely do not feel as well on it. The Cymbalta worked wonderfully -- I felt like a new person. So how can I reappeal and win this time? I am ready to change insurance companies just to get it, if I have to, althought that is kind of a stretch.

Unfortunately these days because of the high cost of drugs most insurance companies won't cover the expensive ones if there is a generic or less costly one. I don't know if there is a way around this. You'll probably have to wait the 6 weeks and have the doctor tell them that Cymbalta is the only one that works for you. Good luck.
