Sore, burining, irritated, red eyes?!

Question:

Sore, burining, irritated, red eyes?

I USED to suffer from hayfever and had these symptoms along with the usual, runny, itchy nose etc.... i don't think it;s hayfever now though cos i don't have any other signs...What can this be?

thanks so far...just to add, bright lights make them sting more...I'm wearing shades to look at the comp screen

could be conjunctivitis if you have discharge round the eye and it's blood shot, you could go to the chemist and they could give you something or it may be hay fever so take an antihistamine
