Anyone else have this problem of inability to move before falling asleep?!

Question:

Anyone else have this problem of inability to move before falling asleep?

Sometimes before I go to sleep, I cannot move. Then I wake up 10 minutes later, and I try to move my fingers but I can't. All I can do is look and move my eyes. This lasts for about a minute. I would like to know if this is a serious medical condition, or if it is common among people.

Answers:

It is a hormone that is meant to keep you from sleep walking.

Perfectly normal.

You have to just close your eyes and start allowing it to wear off and then get up. Other then that... get more deep sleep, you sound like you need it.

Just think of people who have the opposite of your problem, like driving asleep and or running asleep and ending up somewhere else and never knowing if they endangered themselves or someone else.
