Lower back and ribs hurt when breathing?!

Question:

Lower back and ribs hurt when breathing?

I haven't fallen or hurt myself in any way, but the last few days I've been having trouble breathing... like short of breath and my ribs at the front feel sore like they're bruised or something. My chest feels really tight...

Just today, I started getting a pain in my mid/lower back on the left side and its very sharp whenever I breathe in so I can't breathe very deeply.

I'd go to a doctor right away, but I have exams the next couple days. So I'm just wondering if this could be a sign of anything particularly serious? Or should I just wait it out?

Thanks :)

Hi there! Don't worry!! Nothing too major! You can get an xray to be sure, but I'll bet that you have a subluxated rib!! See a chiropractor and trust me it will be gone!! THis means that your rib has somehow become displaced ( just a small bit, but that's all it takes.) and now your muscles are fighting to keep it in place for you. So when you breathe in deeply, your ribs go up and out and this movement causes the pain. I have been in the business for 10 years now and see this all the time. Some of my patients just sneeze and that's all it takes!!
