I have really bad asthma can my boyfriend use a bag valve mask on me?

I really thing he should be able to use this on me because i have horrible asthma and alot of times I completly stop breathing. I have been on a ventalator about 12 times and him being able to use this on me may help save my life what do you thing?

A valve bag mask will only be delivering room air. You need to ensure your asthma is controlled adequately through preventive medication and ensure you take this medication regularly. A ventilator is able to deliver high oxygen concentrations and is therefore able to deliver enough oxygen to your body to keep you alive. If you have a severe asthma attack where you will need ventilation a bag valve mask will not assist as you also need to relieve the congestion of your lungs to allow the release of CO2 or significantly increase your O2 intake.
