How do i stop bedwetting?

i wet the bed and i want to stop

Answers:

How old are you? Have you always wet the bed, or did it just start to happen recently? Do you wet nearly every night, or just occasionally or once in awhile?

Bedwetting is not "normal" at any age past about 5 or 6, but it does happen to a LOT more people than you might think, even teens and young adults. Unfortunately for people who have the problem there is no easy way to make it stop. If you haven't been to the doctor for this before, it's a good idea to go just to make sure there's nothing seriously wrong with your bladder or kidneys. The doctor will want to know the answers to the questions I asked above so that they can get a better idea of what might be going on with you.

Although there are no easy answers, there are some things you can do to try to stop, depending on what's going on in your body to cause the problem. If you've wet the bed your whole life, chances are that your bladder simply hasn't grown or developed enough to keep up with the rest of your body. Usually if you wait long enough it will catch up on its own even if you don't do anything... but you can help yourself out by drinking LOTS of water in the early part of the day (not close to bedtime though!) and holding your urine in as long as you can *comfortably* do so in order to exercise your bladder and help those muscles get stronger. There are also special alarms that are designed to set off a loud noise to wake you up at the instant you start wetting during the night -- so that even if your bladder isn't able to hold everything in for a whole night, you can learn to stay dry by waking up in the middle of the night when you need to go to the bathroom. You can learn more about these alarms at http://www.bedwettingstore.com

If you used to be dry at night but started wetting again recently, the question is, what changed? If you had the problem when you were younger and started wetting again, that can often be a response to stress -- especially if you're not sleeping well and are more tired than normal, which can make it hard to feel when you need to urinate during the night. If you had NEVER wet the bed before (since age 5 or 6) and just started, then you should really go to the doctor because that could indicate a medical problem... but if nothing is found, you can help yourself by trying to reduce your stress level and get better sleep to try to help things get back to the way they were before.

Without knowing how old you are or how long you've had the problem it's hard to be more specific, but I hope this helps!
