Irritation in my right eye? What's causing it?!

Question:

Irritation in my right eye? What's causing it?

It feels like I have a speck of dust in my right eyelid, it's not painful but it's just annoying and I keep rubbing it. I don't think there is anything in there because I've checked and I can't see anything and it's been in the same spot for 2 days now. I washed my eye with water but whatever it is is still there.
Nothing else seems abnormal about my eye. It's not red and I can't feel a lump and my vision is the same. I wear glasses (I'm short sighted) and my right eye needs a stronger lens than my left. So what is it? Anything I should be worried about?

Answers:

It's a mild case of Conjunctivitus.

Go see a Doctor and they will give you drops or a cream to put in your eye that will help with the symptons and help it clear up faster (I don't think there is anything you can buy over the counter, ask at Boots).

It's infectious so be very very careful about rubbing eyes as you can transfer it from one eye to the other.

It mainly hits you when you are tired/run down such as just before or after a cold. I have had this before, it will likely re-occur.
