I think Ativan is addictive right? If I take one in the morning and at night will that be ok. I really like the feeling it gives me. Why is it addictive?

I take ativan when I get sick because it is a medicine that is like a sedative.. it is supposed to relax you and put you to sleep. My brother is a doctor and he said no one should be taking more than one ativan a day -- for those exact reasons and because of some serious side effects. I am not sure why you take it in the morning... since it is a relaxer it is a medicine that puts you to sleep. It is used mainly to treat anxiety -- and it creates a calming effect to the body.
Side effects : Drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, headache, nausea, blurred vision, change in sexual interest/ability, hair loss, constipation, heartburn, or change in appetite may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
If you would like to take it on a daily basis, take it only at night. It will give you a good feeling as you fall asleep and help you stay asleep through the night -- and from my experience... you are usually in a good mood in the morning :)
It is addictive because of the relief and calming/soothing feeling it gives you.
So, please only take one at night.. one in the morning and one at night can create other medical issues.
