Answers:

Contrary to the post by Gem, you CAN bleed while pregnant. I have known several people who either had "periods" during a pregnancy that ended with a normal baby, or had "spotting" at various times throughout the pregnancy and, again, the baby was normal and healthy.

With that being said, I would consult with the doctor again. The doctor should be able to run Hcg levels, one on the day you go in and then another one 3-5 days later. The Hcg levels will tell you if you are still pregnant or not...if they rise, you are, and if they decline, you have indeed suffered a miscarriage. By all means, go back to the doctor and request this test. It is really the only way you will know without having to wait for another period to show.

My heart goes out to you. Good luck!
