Why aren't Rabies Vaccinations given at birth?!

Question:

Why aren't Rabies Vaccinations given at birth?

or why hasn't one been developed to be given at birth?.

Answers:

Any time you vaccinate some one for basically anything you inject them with a very weak strain of the disease that your immune system can easily fight off. Then your memory cells remember how to beat it, and so the next time you get it, they know how to fight it better. When you are that little your immune system is a lot more suseptable to disease, so if you injected a weak strain of it in to a child, the child might actually contract the disease. It's just not really worth the risk, thats why you get most of your shots about a year or two down the road.
