Can marijuana be detected if Im getting a blood test?

Im getting my blood tested to see if I can go on a new medication and to check my thyroid glands and my hormone levels. Will the marijuana be detected in the test? If so how long should I wait?

Your medical records are confidential. They will not be testing for that.

I had a friend back 20 years ago, and the doctor immediately asked him about his marijuana use, after seeing his phlegm.
