Painful cyst?!

Painful cyst?

I have this cyst on my nose and its only getting bigger. Ive tried everything from toothpaste to rubbing aclohol. Nothings been working. I have a date in 4 days and i really want it to go away. Help!

Cysts are generally benign and not harmful, except when they get infected, which it kind of sounds like yours might be. You need to see a doctor. Cysts will not just go away on their own.

I had one on my back and it kept getting bigger and bigger and it hurt like holy heck, and so I finally went to an urgent care clinic and he lanced it, and it was infected so when he popped it, it spread the infection and I ended up in the hospital and had to have emergency surgery. No cool stories, no tearful well wishers, just an embarassing, painful open wound.

Trust me go to the doctor, and don't listen to any home treatments!!!

But, in case you are going to ignore my wonderful advice, don't put ice on it. The doctor had me lay in the hottest bathtub I could stand in order to draw the cyst to the surface so it would drain (didn't work) but, thats what he said to do. Apply moist heat, not ice.
