My skin under my eyebrows is burnt from waxing?!

Question:

My skin under my eyebrows is burnt from waxing?

I got my eyebrows waxed at a Salon on Sunday evening and everything felt normal until she pulled the first wax strip off it hurt more than normal and I brought it to her attention and she told me it was normal. After she was done my face hurt like freaking hell. I ran home and put aloe vera gel on, only for it to burn even more. I called the salon to ask them what went wrong and they asked me if I was taking medication, I said Retin-A and they blaimed it all on the Retin-A. Then i called my dermatologist and he said the Retin-A only makes skin sensitive where it is applied and I obviously dont apply it near my eyebrows or forehead. My doctor & the walgreens pharmacy told me that the wax was most likely too hott and they burned me. I have these 2 huge marks under my eye like brown looking marks and one big brown mark on my nose part where they wax in the middle. PLEASE HELP! What should I do to get rid of this?? Am i going to scar? I'm so worried. I would appreicate any advice or help!

Answers:

Hey! If it makes you feel any better, the same thing has just happened to me and this is the second time it's happened! I was just about to ask the same question as you until I decided to search for it instead. I have been going to this nail salon for two years to get my eyebrows waxed with roughly about 4 to 6 weeks between each visits. (I usually let my eyebrows grow out a little before I go see them just so I wouldn't get hooked.) Well sometime in April I got them waxed and I noticed that it was really uncomfortable and it burned which wasn't normal for me. Actually, it was pretty painful and I can understand how it feels for you. And the lady kept rubbing the wax off with a cloth and I figured that was irritating it even more! So I took a look at my face and my skin was red beneath the brow! I freaked but decided to just let the skin heal. I was worried because I scar very easily, but I came to a conclusion after my skin healed that since it was only the top layer of my skin and very thin that it healed by itself really well. Soon maybe within the week you should just be able to peel the scab off but try not to rush it. I messed with a tiny area before it was healed and it sort of left a tiny mark which I can't really even see anymore as a matter of fact. I went back to the nail salon this past Saturday to see if the same thing would happen again and it did. The lady told me that once your skin starts burning like that it normally doesn't go away. She did blow on the wax but it didn't seem to help. So it was suggested to me that I start plucking my eyebrows instead and also that it may be medicine that I take. I told the lady that I do take medicine but it shouldn't make the skin under my eyebrows sensitive. It is some medicine that I apply to my face which is Differin an adapalene gel. Maybe you should try somebody different who waxes eyebrows and experiment a bit or ask around, but as far as your burns go, your skin should be perfectly fine. I hope this helps.
