what is it that causes one of your taste buds, usually at the tip of the tongue, to hurt!?

I think it happens when you accidentally get it stuck between your teeth while your talking or eating. I actually think this is very common and happens to everybody. Crap, I accidentally did it just now..... THANKS now my taste bud hurts too!
