How did heroin come about?!
Question:
How did heroin come about?
I mean, how was it invented? Did some ill-willing people just want a large portion of the world to become addicts? I really don't get it. I know a lot of people who have been addicted to this drug, or are still currently addicted, and it pains me so to see them go through that. Did the inventor of heroin just want temporary euphoria and wanted to share that happiness with others as well? I'm just really curious, and maybe someone among you could help me out here.
Answers:
No, it wasn't the work of someone who wished ill thoughts for everyone. Neither was it created for the temporary euphoria that it can bring to people. It was created because during the civil war, a lot of people got addicted to morphine. Those who invented heroin thought that this drug was a safe and non-addictive alternative to morphine. They did not know that their invention will create addiction in many people. For more information, you can check out the links that I've included below. :) Hope that satisfies your curiosity.
