What are the procedures and activities when i see a therapist/psychologist?


Answers:

Hopefully you will find a good one on the first try. There has to be a "fit" to work with someone. You have to be able to feel like you can trust them and tell them anyhing as well as feelthat they can help you. I have been to some for onlly one or two sessions because the chemistry wasn't right.

The first session is all about finding out who you are for the therapist. You basically give your life story and they ask questions for about an hour session. They will probably want to find out what you want to work on most.

The following sessions will have to do with what you want to work on. Cognitive behavior therapy is the most commmon and in this you might for example be having problems in your relationship with a family member or your jb or such. The therapist will guide you to find better ways to act and react in these type of problems.

Hopefully you will be able to do this with your therapist and do it in a reasonable amt. of time. Good luck to you.
