Is it okay to take more than the recommended amount of vitamins??!

Question:

Is it okay to take more than the recommended amount of vitamins??

I take care of my younger sister regularly in the summer. And she eats 2 of these "zoo chews" a day (a knock off of l'il critters or flintstones gummies just only made by kroger) like i said she only eats two a day but she always wants more. I'm just asking can it be a health problem if she takes more then the recommended amount ??? and she is 10 years old now. can it be a problem??? I'm reading it now and it says it has 9 essential vitamins and minerals(vitiman A,C,D,E,B6,B12)(minerals: biotin, iodine, zinc, choline, and inositol) so can anyone help me???

Answers:

Yes taking too many is bad. It is possible to OD on vitamins, because she is only 10 it is important that she doesn't over-do it because she could get very sick. Too much of any mineral can interfere with normal functioning (i.e. 2 much calcium and vitamin D can impair nerve function)
