What is in seman that burns our eyes?Serious question!?

Lots of things get in our eyes and some things burn, like pepper and some things dont, like water. Why is seman blindingly painful for those few minutes?

**"Assertive". I am not upset my HUSBAND lands somein my eye now and then. Its not always going to land perfectly on my cheeks or lips. Dosent bother me, Im just not fridgid like that, BTW, weve been married 7 years.

***VERY WICKED*** I dont "subconciously enjoy it" and my husband "dosnet rule my life". I enjoy facials and if it lands in my eye, then thats ok.

I don't know because its salty.. maybe I'm not really sure. I know that it stops hurting because your eyes use its defense mechanism of watering and "washing out" whats in your eyes.
