Does playing to video games cause migraines?!

Question:

Does playing to video games cause migraines?

I am the type of person who gets headachs/migraines/brainfreeze... a whole lot. Plus I like to play video games as long as around 1-3 hours everyday. My mom blames it on this.

Answers:

It could be. Focusing your eyes on one specific area for too long - especially with flashing lights or rapidly moving images - can induce severe headaches/migraines in some people. People who work in an office using computers all day frequently get "eyestrain" headaches for this very reason.

Unfortunately your mom could be right. Try to take 10-15 minute "eye rest" breaks when playing - moving your eyes to a focal point further away, or closing them for a few minutes alltogether. And you should probably cut back a bit on the games, too; there's a lot of other fun things to do.
