The answer to your question comes down to how glutathione works. It doesn't reduce the number of pigment cells, it just interferes with their ability to make melanin.
It would take a few months for the results to be evident, and when you stopped therapy, the pigment cells revert back to their normal pigment production.
(And it is administered IV - it's going to be hard to get a regular IV dosing for a 'cosmetic' concern.)
As long as administered in normal doses, it doesn't show side effects, except in people with Vitamin C deficiency.
