Has anyone heard of Sodiumamatol?!

Question:

Has anyone heard of Sodiumamatol?

I am not sure if the spelling is right.
My elderly neighour was taking it as a sleeping pill, but all of a sudden her GP told her that they stopped producing it and she had to stop taking it from one day to another. She has bad withdrawal symptoms.
I googled it, but could only find one link, where the name was mentioned and that's all.

Answers:

I assume you mean sodium amytal. This is a very old barbiturate sleeping pill. It hasn't been given to any new patients for 25 years. It was so addictive that old patients were sometimes left on it as it was difficult to withdraw. Lots of warning is always given before drug deletions so her GP should have dealt with it. She will need to see him to discuss management.
