Will a removal surgery completely get rid of a lipoma on my back after steroids !

Question:

Will a removal surgery completely get rid of a lipoma on my back after steroids injections?

I have a lipoma on my middle/upper back over my spine and it doesn't hurt. It first appeared last summer(2.9cm by 3.8cm) and my doctor injected steroids. The size was reduced a bit over the months and it doesn't seem to grow. The doctor suggested that I leave it and wouldn't do another steroids injections because it left a dimple mark with some discoloration. It's still lumpy and I don't want it. Do you think it's worth removing it surgically or leave it as my doctor said? Will it be completely gone and will I have a scar after the surgery?

Answers:

My wife has the exact same thing, but it causes her great discomfort. Still, she's afraid to have the surgery. I'd say leave it alone unless it really bothers you. If it does, get the surgery. It not a difficult surgery to perform.

Let me know how it works out...
