Shy... anxiety...help?!

Shy... anxiety...help?

i want to start a course in sept. but im so shy and dreading it! and i may have to do presentations which i cannot cope with as i just freeze,go red, cant breathe! is there anything i can do to overcome this!? i hate it....

In a way I understand what you mean. I went back to school and i wasn't very confident at all. but i did it! What i think you need to do is breath. You need to control your breathing. It's like when a singer goes onto a stage. before they do this they do breathing exercises. Sometimes they meditate. You need to calm yourself by doing something like this. I have a friend who sings and she's a bit shy, and I asked her 'how can you sing in front of that many people?' and she said she does breathing exercises before she's due to go on, and she looks at the top of peoples heads so she doesn't get embarrassed.
