Whats going on?!

Question:

Whats going on?

I've been to see a doctor in the past and he diagnosed me with depression, but then i have days or hours in a day when i am so happy and high (not literally) and i cant sit still, then there's days/hours that i am just normal, i dont feel sad or overly happy.
Whats wrong with me, could i have bi-polar?

About 9 years ago I was having some problems with the way I was feeling and when I went to a doctor he decided to treat me for depression. My doctor and anybody that deals with mental health have to almost do a like trial and error (which sounds bad), but alot of the symptons of mental illness's and effects are very similiar so there no way for them to know if there first diagnose is right or not. They need feedback from you after you have been on whatever medicine for awhile to see if it helps you. But to let you know what happened to me like I said my doctor treated me as if I had depression and prescribed an antideppresant. The problem was a week or two later I was much worse to the point that I was taken to the hospital where they diagnosed me with a much worse mental illness schizophrenia. So they put me on a different medicine and I did get somewhat better. The thing is that it took like another 3 or 4 years until they realized that I was definetly not schizophrenic, but that I had some kind of mood disorder like bi-polar. I was then put on a different medice which is the one I take today. To me it sounds like you have what I had but that you should go to a doctor and tell them exactly how you feel just like in you question here. They should be able to help you out and if your like me all you have to do is take one medicine and now I no longer have the extreme highs and lows that I once had. Also just let you know they reason I got worse after they treated me for depression is because I found out later that if your bi-polar and you take certain antidepressents it can push you into the high side of bi-polar which can cause you to then go down and some point as well.
