I vomit about one hour after I took my medication. what are the chance that I threw up the med with the vomit?

P.S. The medication wasn't the cause of me vomiting. I don't know what to do because I need to take these meds everyday and I don't want to overdose. Your answer will be greatly appreciated.

I'm a nurse in a children's hospital. We tell our parents that if the child vomits within 1/2 hour of taking the med, then give it again. If it's longer then the 1/2 hour you don't give the med again, usually it's already gone through your GI tract.
