Ear piercing infected after 2 + months?!
Question:
Ear piercing infected after 2 + months?
I got my ears pierced almost 3 months ago, and I've never once had a problem with them getting infected or swelling up at all. They've been 99% pain free since the day they were pierced, then I woke up today and my left one was swollen and red, so I took the earing out to clean it with the stuff they gave me when I got the piercings, and some tanish puss and a little blood came out of the hole.
I had bought new studs (from claire's, where I got them done) to wear because I was tired of trying to pry apart the ones they put in when you get the piercings (they're made to stay in your ear, so they're a lot harder to get out). This is the second pair that I've kept in for about 3 days, the first pair I didn't have a problem with at all, and they're basically the exact same thing, just different colors.
I don't want to leave the earring out (I'm not supposed to for more than a few hours) because I don't want the hole to close up, and I can't go to or contact my doctor.
What can I do?
Answers:
You may be allergic to the earring. I for example can only wear gold or Silver in my ears. Wearing Non Allergenic metals for more than an hour and Yikes it is a problem
If you have contact saline solution hanging around, or better yet hydrogen peroxide apply it to your ear. If the infection continues for more than 3 days go to your doctor.
