Does Klonopin and/or Klonopin withdrawal cause difficulty breathing?!

Question:

Does Klonopin and/or Klonopin withdrawal cause difficulty breathing?

Hello,

I have been taking Klonopin for 6 and a half years. I am on a low dose, 3/8 of a mg, which is 3/4 of a 1/2 mg pill, for a few years. Everyday I wake up and for most of the day I feel like I cannot get enough air, take a deep breath, and sometimes feel out of breath. For most of the day I am conscious of my breathing. In the morning it is ok, which is when I take my dose, and then around the early afternoon it really starts to kick in and bother me. I have seen that one of the side effects of Klonopin, and Klonopin withdrawl is dypsnea ( difficulty breathing ). It feels like there is a tightness in my neck and chest, and my diaphram and back feel weak. Has anybody gotten this side effect from Klonopin? It bothers me a lot. I think I am going through withdrawal everyday from tolerance. Is there anything I can do to ease this feeling? It is very scary and annoying and I have been fealing with it for years. Asthma has been ruled out. Nobody can give me any answers...

Answers:

Sounds like it but unless you reduced your dosage from before you are not withdrawing. Withdrawal is temporary symptoms when you stop or reduce the dosage, what you have sounds like side effects or symptoms of dyspnea caused by the pills not the withdrawal of them.
