how far back can an oral drug test show?

i haven't smoked weed or anything in awhile.
but i'm still a little worried about it.

and i never really smoked all that much to begin with.

First of all, they do NOT test for Drugs...They test for what is called "Metabolites"

Marijuana can stay in the System anywhere between 2-3 Days to 12 Weeks, depending on the frequency of use, the weight of that person, their metabolism rate, etc....The threshold for you to pass this test needs to be below 50 nanograms of metabolites per milliliter...

Saliva testing is a very simple and fast way to test someone for drugs. This test is mostly done for pre-employment tests and is done onsite. It is basically done with a swab that is put into your mouth. The tester is to run the swab over the tongue and against the cheek. It is then held in the mouth until the swab is fully concentrated with saliva. This swab is then put into a testing tube that contains a dropper on top. The tester will then drop the swab on a testing cartridge that contains litmus paper, which will show either a Pass/Fail. The results will be ready in ten minutes.

With the Info that you gave, I really would not worry because you have not smoked in Months, so I would think that you would be below the 50 nanograms of metabolites per milliliter that is needed to Pass The Saliva Test...

If you are still worried, you can do two cheap things....

1). Go to some Drug/Pharmacy Store and ask them if they sell THC/Marijuana Stick Tests (they are approx $4 apiece)...If they do, use it to test your Urine (it doesn't matter that you are only taking the Saliva Test)....

2). Before you get tested, make sure that you Gargle with Listerine and Brush your Teeth, Gums, and Tongue (most people forget this one)
well that day..Basically, you are doing two things: You are killing any of the metabolite toxins in your Mouth Area and you are Masking any metabolites that may be present....Once you do the above, buy some Altoids while you go to the Testing Center. Eat as much of it as you can all the way up to the Time of your Test

In Conclusion, I don't think that you have anything to worry about because you are not a Heavy Smoker, you have not done it in a while, and you don't weigh much, and you are probably Young with a High Metabolism Rate....But you probably want to be on the Safe Side...If you follow what I wrote above, I'd say that you would have a 90% chance of Passing The Saliva Test.....
