I have a medical problem. Is it something to worrie about?!

Question:

I have a medical problem. Is it something to worrie about?

My left corroted artery in my neck pops out and beats rappitly for 10-15 seconds beating very very fast. This happens every once and a while. Does anyone know what this is called? Does it have a medical term or a specific name?

Answers:

What you describe sounds unlikely.
I think it much more likely you have a spasm of a neck muscle. This could SEEM exactly like what you're describing.
Why do you think it's your artery?
Next time it happens, feel it closely and make a note what it feels like before and after this occurrance. Then move your head around and see whether what was "beating" might really be just a muscle.
Muscle spasms, if only occasional, are harmless and not to be worried about. They can happen when the muscles are tired, or when you are tired, or for no apparent reason at all.
