As far as scars go, i don't know, but even when you still have the acne, or any other red marks, a green cream works amazing. It balances out the red and it's a lot less noticeable. I use just a general mineral enhanced stick that i got from Target - it's like a click pen and then you "paint" it on. It also helps heal the marks, if you start early enough.
As a slightly bizarre note, putting honey on your face will decrease acne, too, especially if your skin is drier.
