What does the line line 27 "ACCEPT ASSIGNMENT?" mean in a HCFA form?!


Question:

What does the line line 27 "ACCEPT ASSIGNMENT?" mean in a HCFA form?

The question asks it all.

I am currently out of network with most plans. When I submit my bills to them, should I check off "Yes" to this question or "No"?

Answers:

Pretty sure 'accept assignment' just means you accept payment. When I file insurance I always check yes...unless the payment needs to go straight the the patient for some reason.
