Feeling Normal Lymph Nodes?!
Question:
Feeling Normal Lymph Nodes?
I've never examined my neck before, and monday when i felt it for the first time out of curiosity (i keep reading and hearing about these weird medical stories and i made sure i don't have anything), i felt lymph nodes in my neck. they weren't big, and were rather soft, and don't hurt. i'm 14 and have always been healthy but thin, and I'm really nervous that this is something bad. i went for a physical on wednesday and everything is fine and i'm healthy, but i'm just really afraid that something is wrong with me.. all i have is seasonal allergies and have not been sick for a long time.

Trust me, what you felt in your neck was normal. You will always be able to feel your lymph nodes, but if you notice that they become swollen or hard you should consult your doctor. I am just getting over strep throat myself and my lymph nodes were swollen so badly I had trouble swallowing. They gave me a steroid along with antibiotics and now everything's ok. Plus whenever you go to the doctor for just about anything, that's one of the first areas they check and they would detect anything that needed attention. Hope this relieves some of your anxiety. :)
