In great shape, but still out of breathe after fleight of stairs?!


Question:

In great shape, but still out of breathe after fleight of stairs?

Presently, I'm not in the best shape that I once was. I only have roughly 5-8 pounds to lose, but I drastically need to increase my stamina and strengthen my muscles. Two years ago, I had accomplished all of this. I was in terrific shape - not "professional"-terrific shape or anything, but what I could do with an hour of cardio everyday and some weight lifting. I was really proud of myself and my body looked and felt sooo good.

Anyways, to get to my point, why is it that despite my being in great shape, why was I always out of breathe more or less after just a fleight of ten or so stairs? A lot of people have told me that they also struggle with the sporadic fleight of stairs every now and then, yet they're all in excellent shape.


Answers:

You can have strong muscles, but a weak heart. You need to crank up your cardio. This is what builds your endurance and prevents you from huffing and puffing when you go upstairs.
