I have this painful spot below my ear, at the back of my jaw.?
it hurts when i yawn (or press on it) My mom says its a lymph node but i know its not. It was hurting a couple of wks ago too, but it went away. Any ideas. I have no ins. so i CANT go to the dr. I cant afford another dr. bill. ..plz help!!

It could be a swollen gland or it could be TMJ disorder. Do you have a popping sound when you chew? Are you a teeth grinder/clencher?
If its TMJ which I have had since I was 15, about the only thing you can do is to take ibuprofen to reduce muscle swelling. However, I developed ulcers after taking a doc prescibed high dosage for years, so I would only take the ibu until the pain was gone.
You probably should just go see a doctor though, I know you dont have insurance but at least you'll know whats wrong and how to fix it. Go to one of those urgent care clinics that will bill you, then you could arrange to make payments!
