Whats wrong if your ear itches and.....?

My friends ear has been itching really bad for 10 years and even with a cream it still itches . Doctor is a quack and doesent know anything so what could it be? Lol i know weird question but ya... thanks ! :)

could be chronic otitis media. she should see a real ear doctor (EENT).
