How far down does your liver go?

i have a small pain that comes and goes about 4 inches below my rib cage. is it something i ate?

its not actually pain, i just sort of notice it. maybe a muscle is just tired. its been a couple of days. im on some medications, but they don't really affect the liver much, i don't have to get tested or anything. i think im just a hypochondriac

The liver usually does not extend much below the costal margin....the edge of the rib cage...below that it indicates a liver enlargement...hepatomegaly...w... may be a sign of many diseases. But your question is vague as you have not specified the total symptoms.....do you have pain after eating, do you have stomach gas, do you have discomfort after eating fatty foods. For definitive information, you need to ask and supply many answers.
