what are belly buttons for? what if you closed up your belly button, what would happen? i'm not gonna do anything with my belly button though. just wondering.

its where your umbilical cord was connected to you when you were just a wee little fetus. depending how it looks depends on how the doctors cut it. if you closed it...the world would stop spinning.
