How do people die of old age? Does the heart just stop beating for no reason?!
Question:
How do people die of old age? Does the heart just stop beating for no reason?
Doesn't there have to be some cause of death other than time? Like a disease or infection, etc?
Answers:
There are cells in your stomach that keep it lined with a protective mucus so the stomach acid does not burn through. When you get older, all your cells begin to slow down, and when you are old enough, the stomach cells slow down production enough to let the stomach acid actually burn through. Lots of times, it keeps burning to some artery or vein, and the stomach fills. Sounds nasty, but its what happens a lot of the time. =P
