Blood transfusions.?!

Question:

Blood transfusions.?

I was just wondering if anyone can provide any information for me reguarding blood transfusions, such as the standard procedure, the potential risks (other than HIV/AIDS), and how much time is spent in the hospital. Thanks.

Answers:

There's a lot of information out there to consider. However, the truth is that there are TONS of better options that blood transfusions, and a good portion of the medical community believes that medicine in general is moving away from using blood.

There are huge risks simply due to the fact that they can't possibly screen blood for all diseases that might possibly be in it. Even if its not contaminated with AIDS or HIV, what about Hep B and C, and the list goes on.

Also, studies have shown that people undergoing major surgeries without the use of blood have a quicker recovery time and less chance of developing infections.

The reason that blood is still used so frequently is that its a business, a multi million dollar business world wide. Do you really want to submit to a medication that many doctors use, one because its easiest for them and two, it makes money for the hospital?

If you really want truthful unbiased information on blood transfusions, get in contact with Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't take blood because of religious beliefs, but they have also done extensive research on the medical consequenses of taking blood. They have made several award winning documentaries featuring non Jehovah's Witness doctors from all around the world who only practise medicine without blood. We're talking major surgeries like open heart and trauma.
Hope this is helpful.
