Stop taking my antidepressants?!

Question:

Stop taking my antidepressants?

I'm on a low dose of citalopram, 10mg, which I started just over a week ago.

So far they absolutely suck. They've made me so much worse. I now get shaky, I anxious, and I have increased sweating. It's a nightmare.

Before I was just depressed, but I could still function in life and deal with things. Now I can't deal with anything. I'm not as miserable as I used to be, but what's the point in having a so-so mood if you get panic attacks at the thought of any kind of social situation?

I really want to slap the pharmacologists who made this horrible medication. I used to be an extrovert and pretty confident.

Now I haven't taken any for 3 days. I don't plan to take them again. But will I experience any side-effects? I'm worried because I'm in the middle of my finals and I don't want this screwing them up.

Answers:

You need to call your doc and let him know you are having side effects so he can tell your what to do. YOUR DOCTOR IS NOT A MIND READER...............he has NO CLUE you were having side effects so call him and tell him. How is the doc supposed to help you if you don't call and tell him you are having problems??
