How long does leg hair take to grow?!

How long does leg hair take to grow?
i am going to wax my legs before i go on holiday, however, i have to let the hair grow in first to about 3 - 5 mm.
My problem is that i have been trying to let the hair grow. for about 4 - 5 days now,
it has not grown very much and seems to be growing in unevenly.
some parts are much longer than other parts and some hasnt even came through the skin by much at all yet.
I have a boyfriend and i feel VERY self conscious around him when my legs are all stubbly and hairy. even though he knows the reason, i still feel horrible!!
Anything i can do, or any suggestions? How long does hair usually take to fully grow in?

uneven hair is not a problem ,if hair is about 3-5mm u can wax
