It is pretty weird, sometimes I wake up abruptly with a really bad tongue pain and I know it's because I bit it in my sleep... could be a subconscious reaction I guess?
You may have bitten yourself accidently in your sleep. Just like when eating and you accidently bite your tounge/cheek/etc. Not like you planned it. You may have been dreaming something or there is a possibility that you had a seizure in your sleep. I only know from personal experience. I have scar tissue in my tounge now from it. =>
Perhaps you grit your teeth in your sleep, I know that I bite , and girt my teeth in my sleep, I have a sleep mask. Anything is possible.
I bet you just bit your tongue, I had a sleep study done about a year ago and they found out I grind my teeth plus leg movements. They put wires all over you to watch for anything. Anyways, I bet you just bit your tongue.
Why don't you just go back to sleep? That way, you won't be aware of it and you won't be bothering us...
