Swollen uvula?!

Question: Are there any quick fixes for a swollen uvula? This is the first time I've had this problem and the damn thing feels like it's dangling all the way down my throat. I've been drinking a lot of water to re-hydrate in hopes it will subside, but now here it is 5:30 am and I still haven't had any sleep because the thing is bugging me too much. Is there any way to help fix the problem besides playing the waiting game?

1) gargle with salt water - not too salty, about 1/2 tsp in a cup of warm water...

2) there's a spray you can buy -Chloraseptic... which will numb it and kill some bacteria...

I get this sometimes too.

The salt water & chloroseptic ideas are good. But why is your uvula swollen?

One common cause is snoring (especially after drinking alcohol).

If this is a recurrent problem, try to id the cause and address it.

Good luck
