Is that blood!?!

Question: Before I ask this let me say that I do plan to go see my Doc,but at this very moment it's not possible.I just wondered if anyone knew what this might be?

Ok about three days ago I noticed a strange bruise on my upper arm,I thought nothing of it and considered that perhaps i'd hit myself,it soon vanished, but the next night I had really painful cramp like feelings in my upper right leg and lower calf of my left and there were more bruises. After about two hours of moving and rubbing my legs the cramps stopped and I could finally get to sleep, yesterday evening I had a real pain in the right side of my rib and then suddenly found it hard to breathe and was coughing. The coughing dislodged some phlegm and the worrying thing was that it was streaked pink/red with what appeared to be blood.I'm not sure if I fell asleep last night or passed out,but I feel a lot better this morning with no pain or blood, just a bit shakey.
I don't have a temperature or anything so I don't think it's a virius & i'm pretty sure the two are related. It sounds alarmingly like the symptoms my Uncle had before he was diagnosed with a DVT.
He had a clot right near the lung.
Is this possible, does it sound likely?
As I said I am planning to see the Doctor very soon, but this is really worrying me and if possible i'dlike some idea of what it might be.

When I started reading your answer I immediately thought of blood clot. I understand you have said you are going to see a doctor and I can't stress how important this is that you do it right away. A blood clot or DVT is treatable but only if caught right away. If this is what you have, if it travels to your brain, you would have a stroke or aneurysm and die. This has happened to young people. Since you noticed this symptoms 3 days ago, please go to the emergency ward. They can prescribe blood thinners for you that can dissolve the clot but if it detaches and travels to your brain it will be too late. Please get medical help to deal with this while you can..

yes it's blood....coughing up blood = not a good time

don't wait to see the doctor....go to the hospital NOW!!!!!!!

Go to the hospital right now in life in things as serious as this you shouldn't take such a big and stupid chance. Go right now I hope that you don't have time to read this answer. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the hospital theory, this sounds very serious and could cause serious complications!! get to the ER right now, even if you are feeling fine at the moment, GO GO GO!!!
