How do you know if you've pulled a muscle?!

Question: I was in swim practice, and I got a really bad cramp in my leg. The next day, I still had it, and it hurt alot. It feels like its tight. I don't know what to do, and what happened. It would help if somebody could describe how pulling a muscle feels like.

Pulling a muscle just means it hurts. It's a bruise that occurs in the muscle when it's used hard.

A cramp can cause a pulled muscle, and if it hurts a day later, I'd say that's what happened.

If you have muscle pain from a single event, you should rest it. All muscles ache as you train, but if it hurts because of the cramp then it's not the normal rebuilding of muscle due to training.

Take off until it doesn't hurt. The coach should tell you that, but some coaches want to win, and to be fair to them, training does have some pain. The difference is this was caused by an event and not by normal usage.

Be an adult and stand up for yourself, and take off until the pain goes away.

exactly like that

yes you did just move it as much as possible and hot bths or compesses should help

if you havent practiced in a while or loss alot of fluids in ur body.from ankle to lower hamstring

sometimes you can actually feel the muscle pull...it feels like you pulled something out of place and it hurts.

Like that and if it is still there. You probably wouldn't want to stand on it, so it would get better.

IT HURTS ALOT

first it hurts
second get some massage rub with menthol.
if it is a pulled muscle this will help the pain.

When you get cramps, sometimes if you rub the area or give it a deep massage, it will relieve some pain

Since its the next day, make sure you get enough rest...don't exercise or practice until the pain goes away.

Make sure you include stretching in your exercise plan, since its pain...light/slow stretches.

Once you're back to normal, ensure that you stretch everyday...its very essential for a healthy body.

Pulling a muscle will cause some pain for a time.
It will most likely feel tight. You probaly did pull a muscle. Sorry..and it should go away soon, if hurts tooooooo bad, maybe you should condsider seeing a doctor.
Good Luck!!!

It hurts alot .
