It depends on what exactly the doctor is repairing. 2 years ago I had the same type of surgery to repair a torn meniscus and remove some extra tissue and it took about 45 minutes to be completed, and recovery was a little rough at first and I was on crutches for about 8 weeks, but again, that'll be different for you.

Don't be scared you'll be okay! You're in good hands, it's a rather simple procedure, you'll have 2 small scars on your knee (one for the camera, one for the tools), 1-2 stictches will close each hole at the end. I stayed awake for my procedure so if you have any questions just ask me, I'll answer anything that I can.

Hope this helps!

I had mine done in September.
I used crutches for a few days & then I was able to hobble around. Expect swelling & pain. Stay on top of your medication they give you & the phyiscal therapy & excersices they give you are very important!
I had a great experience with the surgery, no complaints. However I do understand being scared.

Hope you have a comfy couch to chill on for a while!

Every doctor has their own way, but mine was done at an out-patience clinic where I went in at 6 am, knocked out before 7 and released before 10.
I have 2 little cuts about 3/4 inches where the scopes, one to do pictures and one to eat away junk, were inserted around the knee. After wards, a brace was placed around the knee area.
I had to keep it elevated, iced, and no weight on it (crutches) until the doctor ok'd it 10 days later then started physical therapy.
Any surgery is scary, but you'll be fine. I hope it solves the problem.

I've had arthoscopic surgery 2x, and it's not that bad. First time it only took about 45 minutes, and I was on crutches about 3 weeks. The second time I pretty much didn't need the crutches except the day of the surgery. Just remember to do what your surgeon says, and take it easy. Oh, and when you get into the recovery room, if you're in pain, ask for something. Don't be shy!!
