Answers: Kill no, but yes if you dont use your muscle they will break down and eventually become useless.

You can get clogged arteries in your legs from being in the same possition all the time and it can kill you

maybe, there are risks such as blood clots caused by poor curculation while lieing down for long periods of time. I never feel on great form if i over sleep to be honest

If you lay in bed all the time then you dont get your body gets use to not doing anything...so i dont know if it can kill you but it would make you very weak.

well if you do it often you might die.

It does, you're muscles get all weak and you feel all tired and crappy. Its not a good idea to just lie in bed until you die, promise

well if you sit in bed for weeks or months your muscles are going to get out of shape from lack of use, also you may get bed sores, and i suppose eventually you could die

No, but you can get weak, and it also depends why you are in bed, and what ev...but you would definately get weak, and catch an illness.

not kill but eventually harm ur muscles and make them feeble

Your muscles atrophy, and some people develop pneumonia from being bedridden.

Staying in bed itself won't kill you, however, it can lead to other problems which can kill you. Pneumonia is common in bedridden people. Muscles do become much weaker due to non use, and skin ulcers can develop which can become infected. If someone is in bed it is important to keep them turned at least every 2 hours, and to exercise their joints.

I think no. I heard some people slept for many years but when they awakened, they are still normal.

Prolonged bed rest in itself won't kill anyone, lack of exercise will cause loss of muscle tone and immobility can lead to pressure sores with a risk of further infection.
Death from respiratory causes is a relatively common complication, when someone is unable to change position for a long period-but a good lie in never hurt anyone.

Not too sure it can kill you unless you starve yourself. It would however make you feel very fatigued and groogy. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do it.. I know when I had an op which left me bed ridden for a while it made me feel terrible with no energy, tiredness beyond belief, moody, headaches and the lack of wanting to do anything. It was not an enjoyable experience at all.

I'm not really sure... I Just asked my dad and he said " theres this thing called "Bed sores" that can kill you if your always in bed."
So I'm assuming yes it can kill you
Hoped that helped...!

Kizuki500,
Your proud answererer...thing

What you don't use you lose.....lying in bed doesn't use muscles. They will atrophy, and eventually lose the ability to to their job properly....including your heart muscle....it will become weak. Your blood circulation will be impaired (yes, blood clots can happen as a result, as mention previously), your digestive system will become sluggish, as well as the bed sores and respiratory diseases as mentioned before. Your general health will deteriorate. You may be able to stay in bed indefinitely without developing something that will kill you, but you may wish it had if you eventually get up and want to start moving around again. In fact, THAT may be what kills you.....

besides making you weak, its the depression thats the worst part, this is a great big interesting world, you"ll have all the time in the world to lay down when your dead in a coffin, get up, try to find something, just even one thing a day to do,then to then three, anything but laying, its a habit, break it befor it breaks you

Too much bed rest depletes your calcium levels so your bones will get weaker.
