Carpal tunnel?!

Question: Ok so I have carpal tunnel and tendonitis in both my wrists. I have been to the doctors and the first time they gave me the braces for both wrists. Those didnt work and so they gave me the steroid prednesoze for the pain. That worked but now it is back and worse than ever. When my right wrist starts to hurt, I cant even move it and all the pain goes up my arm to my elbow and I have to keep it straight until the pain subsides.
I hope I dont need surgery but if anyone out there has had this experience, can you let me know what you did. If any nurses read this, what do you think??

i have had carpal tunnel. my doctor referred me to a specialist . he gave me 2 choices . (1) do the same thing you did, which comes down to playing with your condition, or (2) have the surgery. i chose surgery. it's been 2 years and i have not had a problem. you see carpal tunnel is mostly nerves lying or crossing another nerve. the surgeon removed the problem nerve and placed it near my elbow and i've had no problems. good luck

Carpel Tunnel is caused by repetitive motions of the hands and wrists, such as continuous typing. A nerve gets trapped in a small "tunnel" in a bone near the wrist, causing numbness, pain, clumsiness with the hands and just pure misery! The steroids helped to reduce the inflammation, opened the bone area up and gave you relief, temporarily. If you have a job with repetitive motions, rethink it or get the surgery.

go for surgery...it may become irreversible...
