It sounds like plantar facitis (sp?), a painful foot condition that is usually caused by being on your feet a lot or walking on hard surfaces. Does it hurt more after you have been sitting for awhile and then you stand up to walk?

Although it can be quite bothersome it isn't a serious condition and in most cases (80% of the time) it will correct itself in time.

Wearing shoes with a lot of heel cushion and good arch support will help. Also, there a few exercises you can do that might help...rolling a tennis ball from heel to toe (or a frozen bottle of water) will help, as will tracing the alphabet with your foot (as if you're writing in the sand with your toes).

Roadrunner shoes online sells some supports that might prove helpful. There are also some websights that offer tips.

I hope all of this helps and I hope you are feeling better soon.

You must be putting too much strain on yourself.

I have the same problem-- it's called plantar faciatis ( not sure of the spelling). Go see a foot doctor. Most people have it fixed by having inserts made for their shoes to give an arch to the foot. There are other things they can do so it's best to check in with a doctor.

There is a fine difference in having foot ache vs. shooting pain in the foot. Is the pain constant or only in the evenings? Is it a aching pain or shooting pain?

How old are your shoes? if more than a year old then change them.

You may have a herniation in your lower spine that commonly causes shooting pain in the leg.

If you have insurance then try to see a Orthopeadic doctor.

it could be a bone spur, feels like your walking on rocks
you need foot Dr.
