I was drunk?!

Question: ok people last friday i was out and got quite drunk - i was walking home (or at least trying) when i slipped on some black ice and to be honest my back is nackered - its just gone i havent been to the doctors because i know whats up - its just really badley brused and extremly painfull and to be honest i aint moving very far. so my question (situation) - i started my new job only a month ago and there is no way im going to be able to attend tommorrow or mabe for a few days - reason being seen as i work in a warehouse its a heavy lifting job and thats just not an option with my back like it is

so what do i tell my boss??? i cant say i was drunk and fell over (which is the truth) - what do i tell them when i phone in ???

and what will they say - i have only been in my new job a month its not going to look too good having time off already ?????????

Just tell him you fell on ice and leave out the drunken part!

When lying, you always wanna stay as close to the truth as you can! And well you're not really lying, you're just leaving out the drunken part!
This way you dont have to remember what you're lying about!
Good luck! Hope your neck feels better!

You were drunk

You don't have to include the drunk part- just say you slipped on ice while outside and landing on your back and have been in pain for the past week.
Also, if you are still in pain and not able to move much, you need to go to the doctor.

Just call them and tell them that you slipped on black ice and that your back is badly bruised so you can come into lift anything but you can still come in and show them the bruising.

Tell him you slipped and fell on ice. He doesn't need to know you were drunk at the time.

Simply tell them you were walking down the street and slipped on ice - that's the truth, so far as it goes. Leave out the drunk part.

In the meantime - gentle heat and ibuprofen are your friends. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Remember, millions of chavs on the dole are counting on you!

You screwed up. Don't get the boss involved. Get some tylenol or other pain med into your system and go to work. You burned your ***, now you have to sit on the blisters. Been there, done that.

u slipped on black ice period. That can happen sober u can also say u were moving furniture. No worries. U may need note from dr stating u cant work

Go to your doctor. He will write you a note to stay off work for a period of time. Give the note to your boss. If your boss asks you how you hurt your back, just tell him you slipped on some ice.

Leave the drinking part out - you were walking your dog and slipped on some ice (don't be too creative here). You'll need to go see a doctor to figure out exactly what's wrong and how you're going to get "fixed". Regarding your job - is there anything you can do there that doesn't require lifting? sounds like you're slightly screwed there, they could fire you...

people do slip sometimes without being drunk, say you were running and slipped...busted your back pretty good, and you need a few days. Then just hope he understands and doesn't fire you! good luck

Say you were lifting some boxes outside and you ended up slipping on your stairs. It's happened to me atleast 2 times already. Tell them your sorry for the inconvinience, and go to a doctor or something just to show them that it was something serious

Just tell them you fell, they dont need to know all the details..expecially since this is a new job for you.

Your boss isn't allowed to ask why you can't come into work. Especially if you go to your Dr. and get a note.

you were drunk!
